We are an eco-friendly accommodation and we are aware of the importance of preserving the wonderful natural of this idyllic place, the Val d'Aran in the Pyrenees.

What are the sustainable actions that we carry out at Verneda Camping Mountain Resort?
Our bungalows are made of wood from local trees. Every year we plant new trees to keep the circle of life going. To honour our environment, our bungalows are named after the mountains, rivers and lakes that surround us.
In winter, many of these bungalows are heated with pellet stoves. A natural and ecological material which, in the case of CO2 generation, is PH neutral, avoiding the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere and the pollution of the environment.
We have our own treatment plant, which not only eliminates odours and harmful gases, but also guarantees a cleaner and healthier environment. It helps us to protect and conserve our most precious resource, water. The sludge an be used as a fertiliser in green and cultivated areas.
The water in the communal areas has a push button. In this way we reduce unnecessary water consumption as much as possible.
Our green areas are maintained thanks to rainwater collection and the ponies that look after our pitches.
The poniesare part of the #VIDAVerneda family: Pocoyo, Paulina, Txomin and XXX have been with us for many years and their rides through our green areas also serve as food for them. In winter, when the Snow covers everything, we take them to a warmer area and they eat what the grass that we harvested and dried out in the previous months.
We cultivate our land and sow natural grass for you to have our plots always in optimum condition.
Of course, we have a selective rubbish collection area, promoving recycling. We believe that useful recycling should be carried out as an individual action to help the collective not to generate more packaging and other types of waste.
At reception, we promote sustainable tourism with guided tours, bike excursions and gastronomic recommendations in which local products predominate.
We offer digital information about tourism and the camping itself in order to do without paper. Our invoices are sent by mail and If necessary, we us recycled the.
We disinfect the rooms with ozone.
The Verneda team has electric vehicles to carry out its tasks in the most efficient, fast and ecological way.
Our pool has saline chlorination, thus avoiding contamination with chemicals.
Our lights are LED and with motion sensor, to prevent them from being used when they are not necessary, and to make sure that when they are used, it is with an optimal consumption.
In our supermarket you will find many local products.
In autumn, we sow and work our land so that in summer you will have that much desired shade. The pruning process generates vegetable waste, which we use as compost to fertilize the lawns and green areas of the campsite. It is the cycle of life.
Children's activities that promote care and respect for the environment. In summer we offer activities where contact with nature is an part of learning more about the world around them.
Responsible customers
Caring for the environment and our planet is easy if you know how. That's why we believe that everyone should do their bit. How can you do it?
- By using the water you need and not wasting it. By taking showers no longer than 2 minutes.
- Turning off lights when you don't need them.
- Using recycling bins.
- Using public transportation whenever possible and not wasting, in general, natural resources.
- You can use devices that are charged by sunlight.
- Use reusable packaging. Minimise your environmental impact by reusing. For example, you can do activities with your loved ones to find a second life for things that are going to be thrown away.
What about around the natural environment?
- Don't pluck flowers and plants from our forests, respect the flora and fauna of the environment. Respect the paths and always follow the marked trails.
- Travel out of high season to help deseasonalisation.
- Consume in places where priority is given to local products.
- Keep your rubbish in a bag so as not to leave waste in nature, and you can even pick up any litte you find.
- Enjoy the sound that surrounds you, without making excessive noise or playing loud music.
